IPS is looking for a Mechanical Lead Engineer at a Robotics, IoT, and data analytics technology company here in Pittsburgh!
We are developing unique, patented technology solutions for a fully autonomous, controlled indoor agricultural environment. Our implementation combines a fleet of physical robots and IoT-enabled devices to provide a complete, cloud-managed farm. We produce significant yields compared to traditional farms while using 95% less water, avoiding top-soil degradation, and reducing runoff pollution. Our in store brand, Pure Sky Farms, sells truly local, fresh, pesticide-free produce to supermarkets, such as Whole Foods and Giant Eagle, regional distributors, and select restaurants. In summary, our smart indoor farms deliver perfect, pure produce no matter the season or location.
RoBotany is seeking a candidate to help lead the development of hardware solutions for an indoor autonomous farming environment. You will plan, coordinate, and execute on product initiatives in a clear and timely fashion while following best practices found in lean design engineering.
You have at least an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and have worked in a design, implementation, and DfX capacity for 5+ years. You enjoy knowing how things are made, are used to prototyping your designs in a shop, and have experience in mass manufacturing various components.
